Megan Barnett is Vice Provost for Pan-University Initiatives at the University of Virginia, advising the provost, faculty, and university leaders on academic and strategic initiatives — including UVA Innovates and other cross-school efforts.
Before returning to Virginia, she worked in Yale's Office of the Provost from 2015–2020 as Associate Provost and Chief of Staff, then Vice Provost for Strategic Initiatives. From 2002–2015 she was a senior advisor to the dean of Yale Law School across academic affairs, faculty governance, graduate and international programs, finance, and admissions.
Earlier she practiced at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher advising high-tech clients on IP litigation and licenses, clerked for Judge R. Lanier Anderson III on the Eleventh Circuit, and worked as a financial analyst at Salomon Brothers. She holds a B.A. from UVA and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
